Education Partnerships

Capital Workforce Partners Goal: to strengthen the relationship between the workforce system and educational institutions in the North Central Region to ensure training resources are targeted to support the evolving needs of the labor market.

One of the initiatives launched recently to help companies throughout Connecticut with their Adult Education needs is Adult Education At Work - a network of adult education programs offering quality workforce education.  Leadership and financial support is provided by the Connecticut State Department of Education, in partnership with the Capitol Region Education Council and Connecticut's Workforce Investment Boards statewide.

  • determining the basis of a secure labor market to ensure training programs end in employment
  • developing strategies to relate career awareness to training opportunities
  • analyzing our labor markets to develop a list of jobs with a high probability of remaining in the region
  • creating strategies to inform youth of career opportunities in advanced manufacturing / technology, retail services, health services and financial services while informing them of the skills necessary for success in these fields
