According to George Precour, her supervisor, Veronica Vioude (right) is a great find you will discover among the gems at the Penny Saver Thrift Shop. Since she was placed under his watchful eye, Mr. Precourt speaks highly of Veronica's can-do spirit and customer-focus. Kudo's to Veronica and George for being fine additions to this year's Program. Also pictured is Nicole Fortier (left), visting from the Urban League of Greater Hartford.

This group was led by George Philliber, Philliber Research Associates, who was retained by The City of Hartford Office for Youth Services. These participants are codifying research categories and questions to be used by them in the field with over a 1,000 Hartford youth. The research results will inform public policy experts and social agency leaders on Hartford youths' career assets, aspirations and key concerns.
Safety counts as much as service for this participant placed at this very busy and demanding location. It's evident he's fairly well on top of it.
At Stop and Shop, you are often in front of the public, busily performing rotating roles along with your youth employment program co-workers at this location.
At TJ Maxx in Manchester, the ever-busy and thoroughly-driven store manager, Christina Noyes, enthusiastically welcomed dozens of youth for the 2010 Summer Youth Employment and Learning Program -- at the same time she and her team are plunged in a store-wide re-modeling effort where the doors will stay open! Ms. Noyes reasoned the youth would get a memorable immersion in the rigors, front-to-back, of the retail trade. The youth are supporting sales and remodeling activities. Kudos to all for the extra effort!

Some at ShopRite say Omar Montanez always comes to work appearing ready for the cover of GQ. We agree. Just seconds before this photo, Omar was out clearing the lot of carriages at the height of the Friday shopping rush.
Busy on a Friday near 5:00 o'clock! This young man could only give the photographer a second. Pictured here are Yvonne Matthews, Urban League of Greater Hartford, and one of her many charges for the summer, Omar Montanez.
