Allied Health Recruitment and Placement Coordinator

 

Job Summary:

This position will work for Capital Workforce (CWP) as part of a statewide team with the community colleges.  The Allied Health Recruitment and Placement Coordinator will coordinate recruitment strategies to bring Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) workers, veterans and other un-and underemployed workers into the community college system, One-Stops, Veterans’ Centers and other portals to enter into allied health related training and job placement.

 

Responsibilities:

Advise job seekers of the aspects of careers in health sciences at the community colleges including biology, physicians, nurses, medical coding and health information technology.  Advise and counsel potential participants from the CT Works One-Stop System on allied health career pathways.  Engage employers in participating in program and interface directly with employers to develop internships and job placements. Serve as resource liaison between employers and program participants.  Conduct orientations at CT Works and other venues on allied health careers.  Conduct appropriate training sessions for educational and CT Works career agents to inform them of program.  Work closely with Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) Director on promoting program.  Help place program completers into internships and job placements.  Work closely with Special Programs Manager and TAA Director in meeting grant outcomes. Track and monitor progress of participants based on goals and objectives of grant.

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Allied Health, Business, or related field.  A minimum of three to five years’ experience working with education, employment and training or human service programs or healthcare.  Experience in, or knowledge of, allied health and/or nursing fields and/or career pathways.  Relevant experience in higher education, preferably to include community colleges and four-year institutions.

 

The Allied Health Recruitment and Placement Coordinator will be required to travel to the CT Works One-Stop Centers in the North Central Workforce Region of CT, educational institutions and employers in the North Central region.  This position is grant funded; therefore, the end date of employment will be December 31, 2015.   The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000 depending on experience.
